| 392139 | 2005-09-30 02:50:00 | I've been having some trouble with winmx for a few weeks now - thought it might have been because of orcon " filtering" downloads in some way . Limewire seems to work well for me | KatiMike (242) | ||

| 392143 | 2005-09-30 04:43:00 | Did you try the manual download option ? The Windows off-line instal is 16.3 meg , good instructions supplied too. Thanks CYabro for the info | KatiMike (242) | ||
| 392144 | 2005-09-30 07:13:00 | katimike ,yes ive tried manual download and i cant bring up the page to start the download, 1. Start Menu, choose Run. 2. Type in: ipconfig /flushdns and hit enter. 3. Now Start WinMX again, and hopefully you will connect. ive done this and nothing seems to happen If flushdns didn't help you * Select Start | Run (type) "services.msc" (no quotes) * Scroll down to "DNS Client", Right-click and select: Properties * Click the drop-down arrow for "Startup type" * Select: Manual * Click Apply/Ok and the click Restart Service * If the service doesn't stop automatically, stop it manually by clicking 'Stop Service' (Note: the service doesn't need to run on non-enterprise level PC's) ive done this and i can even get "services.msc" to run |
