| 392487 | 2005-10-02 01:19:00 | The nearest phone jack is at the PC's old location. I am happy to leave it there and position the Access Point on top of the television. The ADSL modem/router is powered by it's on power supply so that's not an issue. I can leave the system connected with the UTP cable so that I can configure the wireless equipment and once that's done I can just disable the on-board network adapter. cheers chiefnz |

| 392488 | 2005-10-02 03:25:00 | You need 1 access point and one USB or PCI card. First you would plug the access point into your computer and configure it, the default "Access Point" mode is what you want, then enable WEP. Then take the access point to the ADSL Modem and connect togeather. Install and configure the PCI card, or plug in the USB adapter if it like the one Speedy describes you will have to make sure it is set to "Client" mode. |
