392587 2005-10-01 18:53:00 My computer has started giving the following message every time Internet Explorer is opened up. IE explorer wont run at all and this message pops up exery time I try to use it. Have tried rebooting with no results.. I was not doing anything major when it happened, was just looking at a web for a local car painter, and changed the default home page to show this site. After I closed IE explorer, I reopened it to test the home page, and this error showed instead of IE explorer opening up, and now I can't get it to work at all. Running Windows XP home.

The error dialog reads:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library.
Runtime error!
Program: c\program files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unsusal way. Please contact the applications support team for more information.

Any ideas please?

Unzip it into its own folder, run it, and scan / copy and paste a log here.

Spyware, or some other nasty maybe causing it.

392589 2005-10-01 20:12:00 Try the following to stop the warnings in Internet Explorer: With Internet Explorer open, go to Tools/Advanced, and check the boxes, "Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer)" and "Display a notification about every script error". This should stop the warnings.

Also click start then run.
In the run box type sfc /scannow.
THis will run the windows file checker and will ask for you install cd if it finds anything amiss.
Note there is a space after sfc
