| 393011 | 2005-10-03 00:01:00 | I have a friend who is looking after her grand children (after a court order) and each weekend they chat to their father on MSN.Once they are finished the father cleans out all he thinks may leave traces of their Chat. However the wicked stepmother (and I am for real here)has had the puter "doctored" by a Guru and she has access to the complete chat session. Is there something, (1) preferably the Grandmother or children can put on their W98 puter or (2)The father at the other end can use; To make the chat session 100% secure.I use Crapcleaner and feel it may do at the fathers end but Gma wants to be sure. |

| 393012 | 2005-10-03 00:20:00 | I think that if the father uses MSN Web Messenger, then that doesn't leave traces of logs (as far as I know). It's MSN Messenger's online version, http://webmessenger.msn.com |

Why? Is he not supposed to be talking to them? Why not have him go to an internet cafe and chat then? Who owns this PC - him or the stepmother? And presumably that is his new partner - sounds more like a domestic problem than a PC one. Not sure I want to tell you what to do in that case.... |

| 393015 | 2005-10-03 01:39:00 | The PC problem is: How can he use his PC to chat and keep his chat private? I think a lot of husbands would be interested to know. I am sure there is a way and I think Ccleaner is the way but we want to be sure. Would you chat to a family member and tell them your credit card details while on MSN and feel safe? The previous posting seemed to say you could. |

I wouldn't tell ANY one family or not my credit card number at all. |

| 393017 | 2005-10-03 01:53:00 | You sure a keylogger, software or hardware based hasn't been installed?? There are hardware keyloggers, which go between the kb connection on the case... This captures everything. Using programs like ccleaner wouldnt remove what this logs, as its hardware based. It'll get recorded on the keylogger. |

| 393018 | 2005-10-03 02:00:00 | Thanks for that there is a good chance that is the problem. All normal precautions have not stopped the step mum from knowing what is going on and I guess CCleaner would not help either. Thanks |

| 393019 | 2005-10-03 02:20:00 | most good antivirus progs should pick up on a keylogger ........also you may not be aware of it but msn messenger has a functino in it which allows automatic 'saveing' of all chats.............under......tools/options/messages........'automatically keep a history of my conversations'.......and it gives the option of where to save them...... | drcspy (146) | ||
