| 393027 | 2005-10-02 21:52:00 | I recently read an article that recommended that it was safer to browse the web with a "limited user" account rather than the Administrator one. Accordingly I created a password protected limited user account on my machine. However when I log onto the account, some of my programmes are not listed in the 'All programmes' menu and are therefore not available. I am referring specifically to Sunbelt Software Counterspy. Am I doing something wrong? And more to the point how do I get the new identity to contain and use all my programmes especially the security ones. I run Win XP SP2 Thanks for any and all advice. :badpc: |

Usually this just means the shortcuts are placed in Documents & Settings\username\start menu instead of Documents & Settings\all users\Start menu & you can just copy it across. Some programs do keep user specific settings. I'm not sure how this would work if it was installed for only one user. |

Greven: I don't recall installing the program for only one user but on the other hand the limited user did not exist when Counterspy was installed. Also I'm not sure what to copy to what. In other words what file do I need to copy to which location? Obviously I can only do this in the Administrator account. |

Tweak'e: My real question is will Counterspy be of any use in spotting spyware while I am in the limited acc on the web? |
