392924 2005-10-02 20:27:00 Hi,
Looking for an internal black dual layer dvd writer...
Is dvd ram a new or old technology and should i get one with it?

Seeing as all the prices are so low now, it's hard to know what to look for when choosing (for me at least). Any hints? Price is not too important, but want quality and speed...
thanx ;)

392925 2005-10-02 20:45:00 Forget DVD-Ram .

There aren't too many dvd players that can read or play it .

Besides the burner itself .

I use this

. asus . com/products4 . aspx?l1=6&l2=35&l3=0&model=415&modelmenu=1" target="_blank">usa . asus . com

And this

. asus . com/products4 . aspx?l1=6&l2=35&l3=0&model=10&modelmenu=1" target="_blank">usa . asus . com

Never had a prob with either .

And both come in black or white .

392926 2005-10-02 20:57:00 I have had the Asus DRW-1608P for about 4 months and works fine. NZ PC World reviewed 9 DVD writers in there Sept. issue and rated the Asus no. 1.

392928 2005-10-02 22:08:00 The LiteOn LTLDW1693 drives come with both a beige and black front bezel so you can swap it whenever you please.
They are one of the better drives to get.
