| 393246 | 2005-10-04 06:05:00 | I just emailed Dell - dont know if they'll care though. Prescott - i tried that link, it didnt end up anywhere though. I wont be buying another Dell, i thought they would use standard parts...but i was wrong. Ill be building my own next time. Daniel Just wondering: how much for a PSU, Mobo (P4, Socket 478, DDR Ram), and PSU? Mabye i could just take the parts...but then i was reading i cant even use the current fan and heatsink... |

| 393248 | 2005-10-04 06:35:00 | Yea, thats why i not going to. Im currently looking around at new mobo's and cases, and it seems ill be able to get all for under $300, probably way less than shipping it to Dell, and paying them to fix it. Daniel |

| 393250 | 2005-10-04 06:42:00 | Thats the only Dell i have, and i wont be getting another. All my laptops are toshiba (ones 13 years old, P100) and havent had one problem them, and i have an old Digital 166 that still goes fine.....in fact, the Dell, which is my newest machine is the only one that doesnt work. | 393251 | 2005-10-04 07:29:00 | Does anyone know of one in Wellington? And, do all Dell machines use Dell power supplies? It looks like a normal one to me...but i may be wrong Daniel pp (http://pp.co.nz/) is up in Newlands, never had any reason to go thyere for repairs, but have brought bit's and piece's of the guy. Service is pretty good... |

| 393252 | 2005-10-04 07:33:00 | Yea, i was thinking of buying from there, or ascent. The main prob is trying to find a Mobo thats 800mhz FSB, HyperThreaded, and no Video (Which is really hard). I also have to try find a fan and heatsink thats under $50, that will cool a P4 3.0ghz. Daniel |
