| 392818 | 2005-10-02 07:24:00 | Hi all Looking for a Heatsink for a Socket A/462 CPU , AMD says 300grams for heatsinks for Xp's yet all the good ones that i am looking at are around ~600 + , does this matter much - if the computer isnt going to be moved much ? |

| 392819 | 2005-10-02 08:35:00 | No, it doesn't matter too much. I believe those sort of recommended weights are if you are shipping the heatsink already attached (i.e. fully assembled). Most heatsinks makers are careful to follow the recommended pressure that is put on the CPU when attached (vastly more important). Just make sure that it is put on correctly (give it some gentle tugs to make sure it will stay on). |
