394504 2005-10-08 08:27:00 Firstly i have never had a problem with pop-ups, perhaps i don't go to sites that have them,
This is really the first time I have seen them in years,
(or perhaps i'm just special :D )

But i have started to get one everytme i go to linux planet and it pops up in the extreme bottom right of my screen (informative.com)

I have adblock
and a hosts file entry for informative.com
I use firefox obviously,
I also have apache installed and running on this mache

I would preferably like something that will be multi browser as although i use firefox for most of my time i do use opera, kmeleon, Amaya and IE in descending order if firefox is playing silly buggers

I know getting a pop-up blocker would be a solution, but seriously I never get pop-ups except for this site,

I notice that sometimes it is a subdomain of informative .com so how do i tell my hosts file that anything from that domain is evil

Anyhelp would be appreciated
Nigel

394507 2005-10-08 19:55:00 Nigel,I visit a site that keeps popping up a page,I think Firefox calls it a pop-under.Anyhow,sneaky. I've just installed an extension in Firefox called NoScript, which I found easily by selecting Tools/Extensions/get more extensions.(just in case you hadn't figured that out already!!) Seems to work. Also grabbed the PDF download one,I hate it when a pdf tries to open on line! Neil McC (178)
