394174 2005-10-07 06:56:00 Often when changing to a new page the pointer takes a sudden move into mostly the left hand top corner of the screen. More of a nuisance really having to reposition it back to where I want it. It is a new Compaq computer and the mouse connection is a ps2. I think thats the term but it is the small rounded plug with pins inside. Being new it is running win XP. Jaybee (6629)

I am assuming it is balled im which case it may just need cleaning.
If you open the mouse and there doesn't appear to be any dirt on either the mouse wheel or the rollers it rolls against, then there is a mouse tool in Control Panel which may help you.

394177 2005-10-07 07:47:00 Have a look in Control Panel, there is an applet for configuring your mouse.
Also, did your mouse come with its own drivers? I assume they are installed

394178 2005-10-07 09:17:00 The mouse came with the computer and is Compaq, same make so assume it is compatable. No drivers or cd with it. I may take it back. Only got it today Jaybee (6629)
