394109 2005-10-07 04:12:00 Firefox takes a loooooong time to load once I click on the icon. I know there has been some suggestions on this forum how to speed it up but I can't find it. Any ideas?

394110 2005-10-07 04:58:00 What OS are you using? If you have XP (or Win2k??) then you might wish to try prefetch. Right click on the Firefox icon on your desktop and select properties. Under the shortcut tab and in the target field add after the last speech mark and leaving one white space /prefetch:1

eg "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" /prefetch:1

May or may not make much of a difference.

You running the latest version of Firefox?

394113 2005-10-07 07:42:00 You can also install an extension 'Firefox pre loader' available from Mozdev extensions page I think.

It works like office preloader in that it loads FFox at startup of comp.

394115 2005-10-07 09:20:00 All extensions have to load up at start as well, uninstalling some unused ones may help. jackrulz (2216)

394117 2005-10-08 05:49:00 Glad it worked for you all :). Prefetch doesn't always make a difference for some programs. Jen (38)
