394164 2005-10-07 22:38:00 with 120mb ram? good luck.

what i was meaning is, i thought you wanted to speed up your computer by freeing up some space, and by deleting some stuff you would think that everything would load faster.....but it wouldnt due to the amount of ram. but just whatever.....

394165 2005-10-07 23:04:00 Turn off hibernation, save you a few hundred megs.
Control Pane>Power Options>Hibernation.

Turn down or off system restore
Control Panel>System>System Restore> Settings

You could reduce your pagefile but with only 120 megs of ram i wouldnt reccomend it

Anyone else? Thanks

Yep - best way of all is to boot up with a bootdisk then at the prompt type: format c: .

Gets ALL of your disk space back that way . ;)

zahmad: I am not entirely convinced that you are not a troll .

Edit: Oops . . . . I didn't notice Metla had already suggested the same thing .

Ah well, great minds think alike, so the saying goes . :p

394172 2005-10-09 03:04:00 -Check your temporary internet files (a.k.a. browser cache).
-C:\Documents and Settings\[your username here]\Local Settings\Temp is a folder that accumulates rubbish (but Disk Cleanup utility should clean that).

And if know what you are doing you can clearout Servicepack files and Hotfixes folders that build up in C:\WINDOWS

windirstat (http://windirstat.sourceforge.net/) will help you find the space hogs...
