| 394493 | 2005-10-08 07:22:00 | I have a 2.5" to 5.25" converter. I cannot see the laptop drive when booted into my desktop [Win2000]. I am using the secondary IDE cable. Have tried this cable on both primary and secondary. Best I could do was see the drive as a 'removable drive', but no data was offered. It saw the drive but no detail. All turned on in the BIOS. Help appreciated. | yorkshirekid (9033) | ||
| 394494 | 2005-10-08 08:07:00 | The jumper is set to master on the 2.5" drive? And whats a 2.5 to 5.25 converter? You mean a 2.5 to 3.5? |

| 394495 | 2005-10-08 08:21:00 | Yup - 2.5 to 3.5....sorry. The jumper - I have no idea how to set the jumper on the laptop hdd. There IS a diagram on top of the hdd, but can't understand it. Besides, if I try place a 3.5 jumper on it (is there such a thing as a 2.5 jumper?), then I can fit the adapter on - can't push it home fully. |
