| 393814 | 2005-10-06 01:53:00 | My friend and my brother both got a pc from a computer cafe that shut down System and connection specs: AMD Athlon XP2400+, via kt 400 mobo, 768mb DDR-400 Ram, LEGEND NVIDIA GeForce 6600GT 128Mb DDRAM, 19" MAG monitor, 40Gb's SATA Hard Disk 2mb buffer, Microsoft Optical Mouse, 256Kb/s Internet connection my friend has 1gb ram and 120gb 8mb cache harddrive but besides that they're EXACTLY THE SAME. but for some reason their performance is incredibly different. my friend can play battlefield 2 on 1152x864 res with no lag but my brother can barely even play on 800x600, i dont think this has anything to do with software because as i said once before the windows is very clean and optimised (sp2, defragged, no spyware) etc. Im trying to find the reason why these two systems perform so differently cos mi brothers kinda pissed his one sux and mi friends one rox. :mad: also my bro cant even start serious sam 2 or a ps3 video, in task manager cpu goes up to 100% and doesn't respond. its not overclocked so i dont kno why its unstable sortof |

| 393821 | 2005-10-06 11:35:00 | have you updated the vid drivers on your bro's pc? coz when i first got my video card i couldnt play games prop so i updated the drivers and now runs smoothly |

| 393822 | 2005-10-06 21:25:00 | i reinstalled the latest nvidia drivers with no change. ill try reinstalling windows... sigh.. and go through windows update all over again! :badpc: its weird, i open an 8mb video with any program like...divx, and it goes to 100% cpu usage and doesn't respond. |
