| 394573 | 2005-10-08 13:58:00 | I have had ZoneAlarm (ZA) on my PC for a while, and my wife is wanting to use SmileyCentral (SC). I have downloaded SC and ZA is blocking it from downloading the images. I have tried to change the settings in ZA to allow SC access but am having no good luck. Can someone help me. Thanks. | LDanix (9035) | ||
| 394574 | 2005-10-08 14:09:00 | ah, Good old Funweb products... If you in any way desire your comp to be a lean mean emailing machine (thats a joke btw) you wouldn't let Smily Central anywhere within 3 and a half billion feet of it, she loads it up with a truckloads of crap. Its not the nastiest type of Adware you can get but it isn't something you would really want on your computer. If yu look at a Hijackthis log after infecting your comp...er I mean installing the software you will a good dozen or so unwarrented additions. Though if your in the habit og installing this type of software your Hijackthis log probally doesn't look very healthy anyway. Id hit it with Spybot, adaware and clean up the remainder with Hijackthis... |

| 394575 | 2005-10-08 14:15:00 | Thanks, Metla, When I first had it on my PC I deleted it because I knew it was adware and would infect me. My wife has missed it and I figured one wouldn't hurt (too much). Do you know if there is a way to allow it access to the internet passed ZoneAlarm? |

Once you start letting this sort of stuff through ZA which is way more sensible than your wife and is doing its best to stop her, then you might as well give up and let in the lot. Think of it this way - just let one graffiti artist loose on your house.... |
