My suggestion of taking it to a techy was a valid one, on a daily basis I repair machines that have been 'fixed' by their owners with the best intentions and they often exacerbate the original problem by tinkering around. Glad to see your problem has been fixed though |

Everyone likes to be able to fix their own computer problems, but sometimes you can see for that user all your advice is not helping or they cannot understand the instructions. Therefore in the best interests for that user a visit to a professional who can see what is actually going on is the most helpful advice that can be given. There are plenty of Zonealarm fans here, also just as many people that have problems with it. I intentionally left it out of my first list as I knew others would suggest it. Best thing to do is a little research. Theres nothing wrong with Windows firewall along with Service Pack 2. |

| 394963 | 2005-10-14 00:23:00 | well gosh some people are rude, bart if your so qualified why didnt you offer any advice on how to fix the problem? and i refuse to take my computer to a tech who will charge me the earth when with just a little perseverance and asking for help here in this forum i can fix it myself (which i did do) isnt that what pressf1 is all about? why are you in this forum? to belittle people who ask for help then tell them to go to a tech? you just assume i dont know what im doing and that insults me everything i was asked to do i did, btw i found windows firewall myself just asked to save myself digging around but i found it within a few mins thanks but no thanks for your help and the unhelpful people who have only come into this thread to support you insulting me, iif it was nothing to do with me being female what made you assume i didnt know anything about computers/ just cause im having a problem (not life threatening by the way without outlook express my computer would still function ) doesnt mean i dont know anything about computers.now let this thread die as its served its purpose. | lisamarie01 (6731) | ||
