| 394947 | 2005-10-13 09:28:00 | Deleting undeletables -Open a Command Prompt window. -Close any open windows. -Close explorer.exe there are two ways -1--start > Turn off computer, hold down CTRL+SHIFT+ALT and press the CANCEL button. -2--CTRL+ALT+DEL and End task in the process tab -Go back to the Command Prompt window and change to the directory where the undeletable file is located in. At the command prompt type del <filename>. -Go back to Task Manager, click File, New Task and enter EXPLORER.EXE to restart the GUI shell. |

| 394948 | 2005-10-13 09:50:00 | Lisamarie open Hijackthis, go to miscellaneous tools/delete a file on reboot, you have already said you know where those files are that Speedy told you to delete but Hijackthis gave you no tick option. Use this tool to get rid of them. I think you are doing really well if it means anything. |

| 394949 | 2005-10-13 10:14:00 | thanks zqwerty, did that and now it works fine, i had just uninstalled internet security before you told me how to delete those files and i think thats what the whole problem was as it wasnt letting me into its settings and it was closing down and closing down systemworks, now systemworks stays open, only problem is i have no firewall running now lol, should i try to reinstall internet security? what do u think? thanks again everyone for all your help. | lisamarie01 (6731) | ||

I would switch on the windows firewall untill you decide how you are going to protect your computer. Firewalls: Sygate, Kero, etc Anti-virus: NOD32 is around $70 and is the best out, if you want to try free AVG isnt too bad. Failing that try you luck with Norton again. You may want to give your computer a scan with the Stinger (vil.nai.com) a stand alone virus-scanner from McAfee. |

| 394954 | 2005-10-13 11:08:00 | yep i have windows firewall running for now untill i sort out another may try to reinstall nortons or get another one not soo sure, but good news outlook express is still downloading my emails after being online for 1 hr it still works yaay so it seems norton internet security was the base of all my problems, wonder if it had to do with norton systemworks 2005 not able to run alongside firewall 2004? but something went wrong witih it . thanks again for everyones help. | lisamarie01 (6731) | ||
