| 394818 | 2005-10-19 11:19:00 | Battery arrived today, first charge gave at 99% 2hours 31 mins,I am going to deep cycle the battery a couple of times to give it a chance in life,so DSE is the place to get them from, around $180 depending if you can get a trade discount, for it to be a bit cheaper. John. |

| 394820 | 2005-10-21 01:30:00 | Just incidentally I had a similar outcome with the battry pack for my Telecom cordless phone; Original pack was lasting just over the 12 month warranty time then I purchased 3 aaa batteries from DS at 1/2 the cost of a new Telecom pack and soldered them in to the configeration for my phone and they are still as good as after 2 years.I had an Acer and would have liked to look in to the battery pack but as it was the only one I had I did not take the plunge. One of you who has a new pack may like to tell us what is inside. |

| 394822 | 2005-10-21 02:46:00 | I wouldn't recommend opening a new battery pack. Lithium-ion battery packs are bit more complicated than a phone's NiMH pack. They are intelligent, as well as very hard to get into. Break one of the wires inside and you will probably write off the pack. The battery's computer would interpret that as a zero volt condition, and refuse to allow (a) power out, or (b) charging. |
