| 394850 | 2005-10-10 10:21:00 | I had problems getting into the net with xtra adsl this morning just before 9am. Took me three attempts, then had problems getting into various sites. At best, some were just very slow. Others I gave up on. Seemed to improve later. Marnie |

This is not just a first for me either. Hopefully it means faster ADSL2 is comming soon as they might be upgrading, causing small outages, but it would be good if they had that info on their status page, so I am just guessing. I use the internet alot, next time I will jump straight onto the phone again to see if I can get some answers......to be continued... |

| 394853 | 2005-10-10 20:10:00 | definately no problems with xtra adsl here in Plamerston North. Even been gaming on aussie servers for the last 3 weeks with only the odd crash which does seem to be the servers not the connection. | dipstick01 (445) | ||
| 394854 | 2005-10-10 20:21:00 | No problems here in Auckland either. One thing I have noticed though, that might be similar to your problem, sometimes one or other of my computers seems to get out of step with either Jetstream or my router and I get a similar effect. I have normal email access but some websites are not accessible. It seems to coincide with the odd occasion when I leave a computer on overnight. Rebooting the computer usually fixes it, though very occasionally I find it necessary to reboot the router as well as the computer. Through all of this, the other computers have normal adsl service. I have no idea what causes the problem, but it isn't worth investigating because it is so rare and random. Cheers Billy 8-{) |

| 394855 | 2005-10-10 22:22:00 | I'm also in Chch and have been having problems with xtra for a couple of months now . Such as, taking several attempts to connect then sometimes losing the connection after about five minutes . Odd, because we've never had any problems before over the past 8 years . I'm on dial up . I am in CHCH and having no problems on 2MB 10 gig Xtra . Lets no assume its an ISP issue! . Are you guys running any firewalls like ZA or Nortons Security crap - I mean centre? |

I renewed my Trend-Micro PC-cillin Security a month or so ago and it has been giving me a few problems with outgoing mail. Am also looking suspiciously at a new fax we bought a couple of months ago. Plus we have an alarm and Sky all on the same line. |

Are you guys running any firewalls like ZA or Nortons Security crap - I mean centre? Well I'm happy for you with a good connection . You can assume whatever you want, I know it's not just this computer as others on my network have similar problems . So I start with the modem/router a D-Link302 xtra jobbie and work back to telecom/xtra . Hopefully there are not too many morons left around here running Norton, we cant convert everyone, so for me Nod32 and NAT only, no firewall no anything . p . s . I'm not expecting a fix from anyone here just wanted to do a little survey |

I'm not expecting a fix from anyone here just wanted to do a little survey Just in my experience at least 50% of the time when someone is complaining about connectivity problems its something at there end. Don't suppose you have a friend with another router you could borrow for 10 minutes? BTW what area are you in? I am in East CHCH, I have read a number of threads on other forums concerning issues with the Riccarton exchange, esp with very poor speeds, although they may have upgraded it by now. |

| 394859 | 2005-10-11 06:01:00 | East Chch here to, right by the beach. I will be acquiring a Billion later in the week, so will swap with the D-Link for a few days. Wouldnt supprise me if it was the router, it's seen some pretty horrid places on the web :D. But AFAIK the connection has been fantastic today, no problems when I was using it anyway. |
