394654 2005-10-09 06:18:00 From what I know of P4s 42 degrees is ok and nothing to stress about (they do run hotter than AMDs). having said that I've never had a pentium, so someone else who has one might know better. Shortcircuit (1666)
394655 2005-10-09 06:41:00 Speedfan says i am at 43 degrees.Is it bad?

is that cpu temp or motherboard/case temp?

these days motherboard/case temp is generally the more important and commanly neglected.

394656 2005-10-09 07:19:00 Unless you have calibrated sensors correctly placed, take any reading reported by a program with a grain of salt (sometimes a very large grain of salt).

What is your ambient room and motherboard temperature with that reading?

Both EasyTune and Sandra shows cpu temperature to be 20c (i do not have any sensors placed in motherboard). Motherboard temp is 25c. Not too sure about exact room temp, my guess is about 18c.

I think its harddrive temp because it says SeagateSt380011A temperate 42 degrees

most likly the prog is reading a non-existing sensor or a very incorrect sensor which is fairly comman.
