| 394696 | 2005-10-09 07:05:00 | Some notes: Like the Sempron 64bit with some boards you have to flash the BIOS with the latest before installing the new chip. Otherwise it won't POST. This may not be the case with all boards but it pays to check first. Second, you need the latest chipset drivers also. For instance Nvidia 66.66 or whichever - depending which O/S you are using. May not seem important but it can cause some weird things. This one I am using right now decided it would have its onboard LAN say No Cable - intermittently. To be on the safe side I updated the lot - Nforce, Graphics and WDM. So far, so good. Have to say its rather nice - wouldn't mind keeping this yummy CPU....but I expect the owner would object. :cool: |
