394644 2005-10-09 02:29:00 Would anybody know of a good free program that tells you the temperature of the computer?

What should be the normal ideal temperature for a pc?

394645 2005-10-09 02:32:00 Whats the motherboard? If its an ASUS, there's AI something on their dl site. Speedy Gonzales (78)
394646 2005-10-09 02:33:00 Depends what CPU etc you're using, my AMD 64 doesn't get over 30 degrees (apparently anything over 85 is hot!!!)

I downloaded a prog (freeware) called PC mechanic 2005 which gives you all sorts of info including CPU temp, motherboard temp and power supply temp. Easy to set up and use too.

You can download it from PCworld.com (note- that's NOT PCWorldNZ)

394647 2005-10-09 02:43:00 A couple I have used... Speedfan (www.majorgeeks.com) and Motherboard monitor (www.snapfiles.com) which use the motherboard sensors to give you readouts. pheonix (36)
394648 2005-10-09 02:43:00 It has stopped being developed now but mbm (http://mbm.livewiredev.com/) was good. gibler (49)
394649 2005-10-09 04:11:00 your motherboard might have come with some sort of temperture sensing software. My Gigabyte motherboards come with EasyTune. Sis sandra Lite can also display your pc's temperature.

My CPU's normal temperature is 20c, with heavy gaming it gets upto about 29c.

394652 2005-10-09 05:42:00 Im running a terminator 2 case not sure the motherboard though.its an asus motherboard .

Speedfan says i am at 43 degrees. Is it bad?
Ninjabear (2948)
394653 2005-10-09 06:15:00 43 isnt too bad for 3.0 ghz... Its reasonable.

Try AI booster from the ASUS site... It the mobo supports it.
