395724 2005-10-13 01:13:00 I have a Toshiba Satellite 1800 notebook that I have reformatted.
I am now re-installing the drivers, but can't seem to get the right driver for the display. I have download 4 different versions of the video driver with no success. The display adapter stays as a standard pci graphics. Can anyone help me over this hurdle? Thank you.

395725 2005-10-13 02:24:00 Since it is a laptop, you must get the driver from Toshiba. A driver from the video chip manufacturer is unlikely to work properly. ;) Graham L (2)
395726 2005-10-13 03:00:00 Heres a link to the download page

www.isd.toshiba.com.au 12626870.1129172345%40%40%40%40&BV_EngineID=caddehkljdflbekgcflcfnfdii.0&theAction=true&CATOID=-15058&MODE=NPRO&ProductMenu_0=Notebooks&ProductMenu_1=Satellite&ProductMenu_2=295770&x=21&y=7

It has all the drivers for your machine

395727 2005-10-13 04:52:00 Thank you all for suggestions, but I have tried the obvious Toshiba driver with no success.
Any other suggestions?

395729 2005-10-13 21:38:00 Quarry, I wish I had access to restore cd. The laptop did not come with them. The customer got it used.
Can the recovery cd's be downloaded? or purchased?

395730 2005-10-14 06:13:00 try running "everest" on that laptop it should id your vga card and may even link you to a download site.
Maybe a phone call to the Laptop Company (toshiba Agents) they may also give details on the driver
