395577 2005-10-12 16:58:00 Hiya! :D

I got Bittornado and when I download stuff, It usually downloads very slowly.

When Theres not much seeds I dont download very fast, 0-13kb/s

BUT... when I download Episodes that hav a lot of seeds, it downloads very quickly, over 20 kb/s

I was wondering, (coz I got a router) if I will need to forward my Ports on Portforwarding? And will this help me download faster and connect to more seeds? Most seeds I connect to are snubbed! Dont no why, but Im not sure if when I forward my ports on Portforward, if itll will download faster?

Plz help. ^_^

395578 2005-10-12 20:20:00 I dont think Port Forwarding has anything to do with your download speeds.
It really depends on as you say the seeders and the amount of users who have other portions of whatever your downloading. :2cents:

395579 2005-10-13 03:45:00 You should forward the appropriate port/s for best performance.. I used to use Azureus but it was always poor even with the port forwarded.

Now I use BitComet which works brilliantly

395580 2005-10-13 07:27:00 Check out http://azureus.sf.net

There is a good How-To section on there for Port-Fowarding, even if you dont use Azureus.

395581 2005-10-13 16:12:00 Does the Bit Client u use to download stuff affect the speed?

I thought that it all depends on the seeds and Peers?

So if i change to Bitcomet, it might download faster?

^_^ Thnx.

PS.I dont think I should use Portforward on Bittornado then.

395582 2005-10-13 20:15:00 Not AFAIK.

Bittorrent is bittorrent. Some prefer the "lighter" torrent clients, like bittornado, bitcomet etc

You should always setup port-forwarding for bittorrent, you'll never be happy if you dont!
