| 395557 | 2005-10-12 10:15:00 | Ive been using a prog called GMail Drive which lets you use the very helpful 2gig of email space like a portable hard drive that you can access from any internet capable computer. Just double click on 'My Computer' and there's gmail Drive sitting there just like your local Hard drive. Only Prob is at pressent it ain't working. Probably due to the folks at google cottoning onto it. Does anyone know of any other application like this where I can copy bits and pieces onto this virtual drive at home and then go to work and access it the same way? I guess I could email my files to my work address but Gmail Drive was much more fun... (Opps my Missus tells me that that thing on my keyring is a USB Memory storage device that holds heaps of info if you plug it into the puter....always wondered what that thing was....lol). If any person wants to backup files over the Internet onto a server which may not be there tomorrow then good luck. Better in my opinion to use an extra hard drive, CDs or DVDs. |
