395537 2005-10-12 08:42:00 You could try Windowblinds... you do have to d/load the prog though. They have a freeware version that only puts up a 'continue' screen when you start up your comp (no other crap though) Lots of free themes for it too.

I had the paid version of Themexp... got it just before they sarted including the malware/adverising with the themes etc. The last straw was when I upgraded bits in my comp and it told me I had changed my system and couldn't load Themexp. Shades of M/soft and over the top as it's only and crapping theme manager prog... I could understand if it was some big/expensive prog like photoshop.

395538 2005-10-12 08:42:00 Well thats a good question.

Some people just say uninstall the adware, and it'll be fine.

395539 2005-10-12 10:25:00 I think I've posted about this already here at PF1, but the best way to use themes IMO is the native way with a patched uxtheme.dll. Download the UXTheme Patcher (www.neowin.net) and grab some (browse.deviantart.com) visual (en.crystalxp.net) styles (www.studiotwentyeight.com/). A couple of Visual Styles I can recommend are VistaXP v2 by kol (http:) and Crystal dlb 2 by dlb (en.crystalxp.net). Here's mine in VistaXP mode (imagef1.x10hosting.com), just for looks really cos I don't find it entirely functional so my computers always in the other (www.imagef1.x10hosting.com) I recommended.

It's probably a good idea to uninstall any theming system you might already have installed. Granted, Visual Styles aren't as hardcore as stuff you can do with WindowsBlinds, but its still pretty good without the nuisance and nag you sometimes experience with commercial packages, otherwise just buy I suppose.
