| 395361 | 2005-10-11 23:41:00 | Hi I have a server running Windows Small Business Server 2000 SP4 that has been running with nothing done to it for 3 years. When I try to install software the install allways stops at extracting files or inspecting system. Have manage to download and install SP4 but cannot run windows update to get the latest patches, just get a blank IE screen that I have to close using Task Manager. Software that will not install: Vertias Backup Exec 10 and 8.6 Symantec antivirus 10 (8 is installed now) Windows Update Have tried turning off the firewall but no difference. Also seems to be a problem with stopping and starting services. Any ideas? |

| 395362 | 2005-10-12 04:58:00 | As I asked the last time you posted this problem, have you checked the group policy on the server for policies set that could cause these problems? You shouldn't start a new post when there is already one . It is hard to keep track of the issues with muiltiple posts and harder for new helpers see what has already been tried . |

| 395363 | 2005-10-21 01:34:00 | Sorry, did not realise had posted this before. Have fixed this problem, turns out the powerchute software had expired. uninstalled powerchute and all OK now. Thanks for your help |
