395215 2005-10-11 04:10:00 My neighbour has a problem with on-screen display. At start-up it activates the on-screen display and it rotates through all the attributes that cab be altered, colour, position etc. It cannot be selected and the OSD window covers the centre part of the screen. Nothing can be brought to the front of it and it cannot be stopped. He has Windows XP which I am not really familiar with. Any ideas on getting rid of the OSD problem. PeterA (8057)
395216 2005-10-11 04:31:00 Perhaps telling us more detail about the display device would be helpful (e.g. is it CRT or LCD etc. what model / serial number / brand etc.)

Cheers :)

395218 2005-10-12 04:18:00 Thanks for the help. The button had stuck. My neighbour came over and was very grateful. He has now put pressf1 on his favourites list.

395219 2005-10-12 04:32:00 They will have to lock and stickie this tread, even put it in the FAQ's Rob99 (151)
395220 2005-10-12 06:08:00 I've heard of a similar problem with some brands of monitors - you can accidently put them in a service/diagnostic mode with the right button pressing combo :)

Also common is people activating the child lock on their VCRs..

Stuck power/reset buttons on computers also can cause confusion.
