| 395653 | 2005-10-15 22:09:00 | I'm not concerned if I can shift 7.5mb of data in one second. What I'm concerned about is will there continue to be data caps? There's no point in having a 7.5mb connection if you're crippled with a 10gb cap That said, 800kb upload speed wouldn't go unappreciated ;) |

Perhaps you should take a good look at what you are doing with your life. |

| 395655 | 2005-10-15 23:05:00 | That's a bit harsh Safari... there are more and more things going out out there in the web world like streaming movies and such that will soon gobble up the MBs. Considering that there is a push for more and more content and connectivity with household appliances and the net I sure hope that Telecom start looking to the future and raise those caps. PS, when I started out on the net years ago I'd be lucky if I went through 100MB a month because there wasn't any real content out there. Now days I go through more like 3Gig a month... and yes- I do also have a life! |

Go back to 1995 where you belong, the rest of us will continue living in 2005. Ever heard of pay for download movies? How about pay TV on the net? Its all coming fast wether you like it or not Yea 10 gigs will last for 11 hours a month doing that lol, its ok though we all don't mind NZ being 10 years behind. 10 gig is heaps lol NOT!! |

There is some thing out there that do use up a far number of MB's/ GB's Take for example uploading a 20 - 30 page website or backing a large website or uploading a forum or backing up a forum that tacks up a far number of mbs & even been a mod or surfing on one of the biggest forums on the internet does take up a few mbs. |

| 395659 | 2005-10-16 18:09:00 | Good morning I like to ad something to this discussion; Myself and quite a number of people around my place would like to get Jetsream as most of us may know how nice it is to wait till the pages load for doing internet banking or downloading work files on a rural dial-up! It is not just movies and the like that the internet is used for. Anyway we tried to get our Names placed with the Telecom's" register your interest for Jetstream". It hardly ever worked if at all and most likely they don't want it to work because it may be overloaded with requests. We don't seem to be able to get anywhere!! For them it is nice to be able to show of the 800 Milion profit to the investors and it makes more impression then getting the service that NZ people are owed!! Gion |
