Found this on QMB's site and wonder if it passes the Met-Test?.... LiteON SOHW-1673S 16x DVD-R/+R, Dual Layer (Beige) Retail Box $63 + GST those are wholesale prices, they might be bringing in themselves. i get them from zcom wholesalers, very similar price - either that or they do that just to bring customers in. |

| 395482 | 2005-10-13 00:13:00 | It must be toast. Downloaded and ran two of the firmwares, rebooting after each install. But still the Optorite cannot read DVD, + or -. Still OK with CDs, however. FWIW : I checked Device Manager and found that the Optorite in my PC is not a DD0401 as stated on the sales receipt, but is a DD0405. User reviews of this DVD R/W were very good, but as Metla is never wrong, I won't be getting another Optorite but will replace it with a LiteOn from QMB. Hmmmnnn, I may be grasping at straws, but perhaps a disc cleaner should be tried? And I am assuming that if it was simply a loose wire, CDs could not be read either. |
