Or just use the ultimate boot cd (http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/)

And while there have a go through of Memtest.

If it looks like the hard drive then back it up pronto.

I always like to boot to Knoppix and see if such wierd stuff still happens.

Then onto checking the SATA cables..

395197 2005-10-12 02:30:00 Well before I had a chance to run the test, I got another BSOD.
This time I saw that it said something along the lines of 'IRQ not equal or less than'
Figured as long as the system was restarting itself, it was a good time to run the tests.

Memtest checks out fine. Ran the seagate tools. Here is what it came up with:

File Structure Test Result:

Partition 1 NTFS 200GB

The following errors were found while scanning the volume:

- One or more cross-links were found
- One or more errors were found in the index
- One or more errors were found in the metadata file records
- Other errors were found

Any good programs to check the temperatures?

395198 2005-10-12 06:16:00 Turn off automatic restart after system failure, so you can read the BSOD.

Control Panel -> System -> Advanced tab -> Startup and Recovery settings button -> uncheck Automatically Restart.

Backup and give the Error Checking tool a go on your drive. Right-click drive -> Properties -> Tools tab.

or run CHKDSK...

ABIT should have a utility to check temperatures...

Hey Zippity,

thanks
