Hard drive freshly formatted. No bugs.

Both Cat5 and wireless show connection ok and can repair without a problem.
Always get the page can't be found message. Direct connection to DSL modem doesn't help.

Extremely low numbers on the received side of the "Network Connection Status" pop-up. Typically 4 -7!

Any help very much appreciated.

Have you actually set up your connection parameters within your computer yet, or are you simply trying it "as is" following installation of your OS?

What OS are you using?

Cheers

395954 2005-10-14 03:23:00 You say you've tried a direct connection from computer to adsl modem.
Is this a new setup?
Have you actually entered your adsl details into the modem and saved the configuration and rebooted the modem.
Or has the modem already been configured and actually worked online before?
Is the modem using DHCP?

395955 2005-10-14 03:32:00 Original modem setup, but has been rebooted several times to check. DHCP used. The SpeedStream DSL Modem is connected to a Linksys 8 port Workgroup Switch. My main computer is connected to the switch as well as two other computers in the house. All functioning without problems. The laptop is connected by cat5 to the same 8 port switch.

thanks for the help so far.
