397298 2005-10-18 03:09:00 My father has this samsung SyncMaster 763MB 17" monitor that I found has a big blurred area in the middle of the monitor.

Everything's in the middle is still legible, but blurry and REALLY strains the eyes. Around the edges its still crystal clear though. It's as if someone took a Blur tool from Photoshop and permanently blurred the center of my monitor (About 50% of the total area of my monitor is blurreD)

Anyone know what it is and what I can do with it?

please hurry, my eyes... suffering... agh.

397299 2005-10-18 03:37:00 Have you tried using your monitor on another laptop / computer? I suspect that this problem is due to malfunction graphics card.

Cheers :)

Sorry James, that's no VC problem, that's either a focus problem or somebody has sandpapered the middle of the screen.

I did a full FAQ on focus issues under the old forum format. I'll see if I can find it again and link it unless somebody beats me to it.

Cheers

397301 2005-10-18 04:56:00 I used to have such monitor problem as well with black lines (not a screen burnout as a result of not having screensaver) as if it is a shadow appearing behind the windows (I'm sure it is not any desktop enhancement program that is making this nonsense). It turns out that VC is the culprit upon inspection by an expert. This is just my own personal experience, bear in mind.

Cheers :)
