| 397294 | 2005-10-18 03:02:00 | Hi I have a second computer used as a backup. Pentium 3, 500mhz, 321MB ram. Using a 40GB HDD plugged into a raid card. Using Win XP Pro. I have just installed a second 8GB HDD on the same connecting ribbon cable as a backup HDD. The second drive shows up OK in system properties/hardware/device manager/disk drives. Double clicking the second HDD, under the `general` tab it tells me that the device is working properly. Under the `drivers` tab it tells me that the Microsoft driver is installed OK. My problem is that the second HDD does not show up in `My Computer`. Only the first HDD (C) The floppy drive (A), CD Writer (D), and CD Rom drive (E). Can anyone tell me how to get the second HDD to show up in `My Computer`? Thanks: Pipercub |

| 397296 | 2005-10-18 03:51:00 | Thanks Speedy; With a combination of your reply, entering `FDISK` and creating a primary DOS partition then formatting the drive,I have managed to fix the problem. Thanks again! | pipercub (7089) | ||
