| 396865 | 2005-10-16 23:03:00 | I had nothing better to do this morning than update my system. this led to me playing, and some interesting errors. It would appear that my sources list is less than desirable, i'm getting errors telling me that nothing can be got from non-us.debian. # See sources.list(5) for more information, especialy # This file may be edited by the MEPIS System Center # Do not modify the comments manually! # Change sources only in the section at the end of this file! # Primary deb ftp://ftp.us.debian.org/debian testing main contrib non-free #deb-src ftp://ftp.us.debian.org/debian testing main contrib non-free deb ftp://ftp.us.debian.org/debian unstable main contrib non-free #deb-src ftp://ftp.us.debian.org/debian unstable main contrib non-free # non-us deb ftp://non-us.debian.org/debian-non-US testing/non-US main contrib non-free #deb-src ftp://non-us.debian.org/debian-non-US testing/non-US main contrib non-free deb ftp://non-us.debian.org/debian-non-US unstable/non-US main contrib non-free #deb-src ftp://non-us.debian.org/debian-non-US unstable/non-US main contrib non-free # MEPIS apt pool - specific packages available on-line deb apt.mepis.org unstable main # DO NOT EDIT ABOVE THIS LINE # mplayer deb ftp://ftp.nerim.net/debian-marillat/ unstable main deb ftp://ftp.nz.debian.org/debian/dists/ unstable main stable testing I tend to get these types of errors, with resonable consistancy Failed to fetch apt.mepis.org 404 Not Found Failed to fetch apt.mepis.org 404 Not Found W: Couldn't stat source package list ftp://non-us.debian.org testing/non-US/main Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/non-us.debian.org_debian-non-US_dists_testing_non-US_main_binary-i386_Packages) - stat (2 No such file or directory) W: Couldn't stat source package list ftp://non-us.debian.org testing/non-US/contrib Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/non-us.debian.org_debian-non-US_dists_testing_non-US_contrib_binary-i386_Packages) - stat (2 No such file or directory) W: Couldn't stat source package list ftp://non-us.debian.org testing/non-US/non-free Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/non-us.debian.org_debian-non-US_dists_testing_non-US_non-free_binary-i386_Packages) - stat (2 No such file or directory) W: Couldn't stat source package list ftp://non-us.debian.org unstable/non-US/main Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/non-us.debian.org_debian-non-US_dists_unstable_non-US_main_binary-i386_Packages) - stat (2 No such file or directory) W: Couldn't stat source package list ftp://non-us.debian.org unstable/non-US/contrib Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/non-us.debian.org_debian-non-US_dists_unstable_non-US_contrib_binary-i386_Packages) - stat (2 No such file or directory) W: Couldn't stat source package list ftp://non-us.debian.org unstable/non-US/non-free Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/non-us.debian.org_debian-non-US_dists_unstable_non-US_non-free_binary-i386_Packages) - stat (2 No such file or directory) W: Couldn't stat source package list ftp://ftp.nz.debian.org unstable/main Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/ftp.nz.debian.org_debian_dists_dists_unstable_main _binary-i386_Packages) - stat (2 No such file or directory) W: Couldn't stat source package list ftp://ftp.nz.debian.org unstable/stable Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/ftp.nz.debian.org_debian_dists_dists_unstable_stab le_binary-i386_Packages) - stat (2 No such file or directory) W: Couldn't stat source package list ftp://ftp.nz.debian.org unstable/testing Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/ftp.nz.debian.org_debian_dists_dists_unstable_test ing_binary-i386_Packages) - stat (2 No such file or directory) W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems E: Unable to fetch some archives, maybe run apt-get update or try with --fix-missing? RESULT=100 Even if i "run apt-get update to correct these problems" they continue. As obvious, i added "deb ftp://ftp.nz.debian.org/debian/dists/ unstable main stable testing" to the list, but that doesn't seem to have done much good. So what do i have to do to get a good reliable, and preferably local supply of sources running? |
