| 396641 | 2005-10-15 20:14:00 | Have just put together a new system using my old 109P4 Philips monitor that worked briliantly with my old NVidia card. New machine has 128 mb Gigabyte X700 Pro. Even though WinXP shows I can refresh up to 100 MHz at 1280x960, the Philips on-screen menu only shows it going to 60Hz. Am getting an annoying flicker, changing refresh rate through monitor settings makes no difference. Have updated video drivers. Googled and found some discussion about ATI cards not "seeing" higher rates than 60 Hz in some cases - but no solutions. Any advice would be much appreciated by my eyeballs! Try something like Driver cleaner (http://www.drivercleaner.net/) to remove all traces of the old nvidia and ati and try to install it again. atitool (www.techpowerup.com) has an option to force fresh rates (although it was only an issue in OpenGL games I thought). |
