New to XP so any help would be reall helpful, my new puta has XP Pro and I am using Firefox for my browser but find that it connects to the net okay but will not load anything, all web pages just time out,even AVG will not update just times out Dont think its a problem with my ISP (Clear) as my old win ME system connects fine Have diabled Win firewall and have installed Zone Alarm,it has a lot of program permisions that I dont recognise so dont know if thats the problem as I have stopped access for anything I don't recocnise

OK, well try turning off ZoneAlarm and turning XP's firewall back on again just to see if that makes a difference. If it does, then you must of configured your ZA firewall incorrectly. |

Thanks for the help found the problem to be thatI had set Zone alarm not to allow SCV Host (what ever it is )to access the net |

"scvhost" is bad shouldn't be on your computer, svchost.exe is part of your normal system. Hope that is just a typo. |
