1392392 2015-01-20 06:41:00 Thought I posted this earlier today but seemed to either have disappeared or I never actually clicked submit to post it!

Chorus says UFB is available at a property I am looking at renting - and am stoked so thought I'll check out prices - yet all the major ISPs say its not available? such as Slingshot, Snap, Telecom.
MyRepublic says that its a non-ufb registered property? what does that mean?

Is there a reason why it would not be available when it actually is? Am wondering if I'm missing a trick to actually get UFB?

Any tips?

ufb.org.nz

Depending on the Area sometimes it takes a while for availability to filter down to the ISPs. Chorus are building the network in some areas so they sometimes know first.
Be careful though, they may have just got it wrong. It can be a bit arbitrary, my sister lives in a street just outside the edge of UFB coverage and can't even get VDSL while all around nearby streets everyone else can.

yeah that website - i click on the map for chorus - and enter address and says its available and i wouldn't say its wrong as I am 100m from the school and another house i was looking at renting was 1km away and it shows up as available.

Keep in mind this is UFB, the average install time is ~3 months. I've even had some down shared driveways take ~7 months too :'( It's always Chorus who slow things down. That, or homeowner consent.
