My friend has an elderly iPad which has a cracked screen, slow, etc. She wants to put selected items onto a new one which she has purchased. I (stupidly) offered to back her data from the iPad onto my computer which is a better spec. than hers. Anyway, I started to do this but the back-up ceased with the message that I do not have enough space on my hard drive. It had started to back up to my C drive, where I have more space on a partitioned F section. I am now running out of space on my C drive (only a few megs left) and want to delete the start of this back-up. How do I find the partial back-up on my C drive please? |

Under your profile users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup on W7.
Under xp I guess it'd be Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings |

Thanks for the suggestion..... in the end I called the Apple Help line - the copied/backed up files I found under iTunes/Edit/Preferences and was able to delete them from there..... so now I have a bit of wiggle room on my C hard drive. In the process I discovered my friend has 6079 photos. on this elderly iPad - no wonder the poor thing is exhausted..... with this quantity (and large file size) she is going to have to get an external hard drive to copy them to, assuming she does want to keep them all.... she needs to control some of this shutterbug impulse methinks.... |
