1392047 2015-01-13 09:30:00 Just got one of these changed the IP now can't log on or get factory reset to work either. Any suggestions? Trick for young players :p Had that happen the first time I used one on my own network :illogical. Just need to double check something on mine in the workshop, I'll post the answer Tomorrow (wednesday) Unless its sorted before then. wainuitech (129)
1392048 2015-01-13 17:28:00 Figured out how to log back into it, now just need to read the manual properly so I can set it up to work :crying gary67 (56)
1392049 2015-01-13 17:46:00 Does the WN604 require a permanent cable connection to the router?

I thought you could put in the shed and it would would pick up the wireless signal from my router, but reading the manual it looks like it needs to be wired in. Not what I was wanting to do as at the new place we are moving to I don't want to run a cable out to the garage due to being a concrete slab with brick cladding.

1392050 2015-01-13 19:37:00 Drag out the PDF manual again, have a look at page 49/50 then scroll down to 52/53 for some pictures on setups. May be what will suit ?

Other wise a range extender may work better, OR even better as long as the shed has power from the house, a Ethernet Over Power may be better, that way you could plug in one end in the house / Router, the ethernet goes through the power cables, and in the shed you can plug in the Access point. ( just a thought)

I have mine setup as a access point, theres a cable going from the router inside out to the workshop, which connects to a couple of switches, and the access point is connected to a switch Via a short cable I made up. Never tried the bridging mode, as the wireless signals from inside only just reach the workshop and are to weak.
