1392094 2015-02-02 06:31:00 Once you request a UFB connection from your ISP they will do the connection from street to house. Alex B (15479)

Lurking.

1392096 2015-02-04 01:33:00 Hooked up the HG630B this morning - it's working brilliantly. It's so-far-so good! bk T (215)
1392097 2015-02-04 01:42:00 Fire up Torrents, or TeamSpeak or certain games though, the poor router is *not* a happy chappy ;-) Chilling_Silence (9)

Those are the OLD ones, why are Spark giving out such outdated gear? they don't even support 5GHZ or AC wifi like the newer model Vodafone is giving out.

1392099 2015-02-08 01:16:00 Because they buy them in bulk of around 5,000-10,000 for around $25-35 a pop, they have to get rid of their stock. Chilling_Silence (9)
1392100 2015-02-08 03:18:00 It may be the old model but it's working fine as it should, so-far. bk T (215)

Plug the old airportg extreme into it and not one drop out since. Went through 3 of there routers thinking it was the actual internet dying. plod (107)
1392102 2015-02-08 04:53:00 Just had a chat with a friend of mine who has got VDSL from Spark with the same model of modem router.

He has got a PS3 consol (he plays consol games a lot), 3 phones, 2 desktop PCs (wired), an iPad and 2 notebooks (wireless) connected to it; he has been using it for more than half a year now without problem. I think this is an above average family user.

He has just bought a new 'smart' 54" (55"?) SONY 4K TV which also has a wireless connection for him to play with as a new toy.

He is quite happy with it - simply, it works for him as and when he needs it. That's the bottom (and final) line. Who can convince him to spend around $200 to up-grade (?) his modern?
