1391954 2015-01-12 12:17:00 Unfortunately Orcon aren't much better than Vodafone (Probably even worse) when it comes to their unlimited plans.
1MB/sec is 8mbps, or roughly the speeds that I was getting 12 years ago on ADSL1 when it first was announced (Was syncing at ~7700kbps)

You're not getting the maximum speeds because of shaping, or over-subscription of international bandwidth by your ISP. It's one or the other, or possibly even a combination of both.

1391955 2015-01-12 12:55:00 Look in wikihow and kill all the built in adverts in Utorrent ;-) then control+G and use the builtin setup guide. To reconfigure for your new faster connection. apsattv (7406)
1391956 2015-01-13 22:03:00 On Vodafone using ADSL2 17mbit linesync speed 1mbit up. I use to get maxed out around 1.6MB/s. However since I shifted to Fibre (Vodafone low end 30 mbit , 10mbit up) a decent seeded file peaks around 3MB/S

Have you tweaked utorrent to better suit the new conection?

I don't understand half of the settings on there so I would have to say no to that.

I have no idea what that is even?

Utorrent has a built in speed guide wizzard. Try it.

Quality of Service, it should be a setting in the router configuration

If they don't know, probably whatever the default settings from the router then .. probably a no.

Well - the fibre line is brand new so that is unlikely the cause. It is really the ISP. With me apart from speedtest.net. My 500MB downloads have ranged from 30secs (Google site) to maybe 10mins with some other sites. I am on a 100Mbps speed downstream. If it is really really bad then it is probably the ISP. I am with Snap. For most people unless the 100Mbps price option is the best for your ISP I don't see much point going faster than 30Mbps. Maybe if you have multiple HD streaming and gaming and things like that....
