1392325 2015-01-20 00:55:00 The Roccat is going back to the store for a refund as this is the second one to start to lose the back-light on the keys.
(this board is a replacement for the first board that had the same issue)

So I need another one.
Not sure I am keen on another mechanical board, the anti-ghosting that sounded so good did have a detrimental effect to gaming.

Any recommendations, so many out there now. Prefer to stay within the cash bounds of the last one @ $300.

1392326 2015-01-20 01:23:00 See if you can find somewhere with a Logitech G710+ on demo (Playtech maybe if you're in AK). I think they're awesome (as is the G510), but some of my friends don't like the key feel, hence suggesting you try it first. But I've had zero issues with the 710+ or the 510, they've been great tools. inphinity (7274)
1392327 2015-01-20 02:21:00 I've always had Logitechs. G110 was the last one.
The first - letters on the keys started to wear after not that long. The second was fine until the cat killed it.

Now I have a Razer Deathstalker - mainly due to budget constraints. I wasn't sure I liked the chiclet keys at first but now I am used to them and it's much much better....

I would have liked this:

But the Razer (green only) was way cheaper.

1392328 2015-01-20 02:38:00 +1 Logitech G510. I've been using mine for about two years without any problems. Only wish there was more support for it in Linux. Rod J (451)
1392329 2015-01-20 02:39:00 I've been a big fan of the Coolermaster Storm Quickfire ones. If you go for a walk into PBTech, they've got a special 6-key "sample" which has the different Red / Brown / Blue etc keys so you can get a feel for each of the different types, like the spring / bounceback, the sensitivity etc
Had mine for ~9 months now, not a single issue, great little keyboards!

1392330 2015-01-20 04:24:00 I find that the mechanical keyboard messes with my skill rotations in SWTOR.

If you are familiar with DPS in an MMO you will understand likewise if you heel/toe your clutch in a car.

Skill one is on #1 and Skill two is on #2 and so on.

Say my rotation is 1 2 3 4 5 6 with a mechanical keyboard (due to the no ghosting) I have wait for the key press to finish.
So running this rotation at normal speed I hit 1 2 3 4 5 6 and that fires 1 3 5 6 missing several skills and if I wait the time then my DPS suffers due to the inefficient rotation.

Not sure if I have explained this well but my rotation fires off quicker and smoother on a non-mechanical keyboard so I am not looking to buy another one.

I did look at the G19 pctek but was not impressed with Logitech's build quality at the time, its getting better now.
The razor I had was ok but had its problems also not sure I want another.
