1392246 2015-01-15 19:50:00 My mate is looking for a new computer and he is looking at this one from PB (www.pbtech.co.nz)

It looks OK to me other than the PSU which is only 400W; and he also would like to add a SSD drive for his OS.

Do you guys think that the 400W PSU can handle it?

1392247 2015-01-15 23:02:00 400 would be Ok, a bit higher if you wanted to upgrade later. The Coolermaster power Supply Guide says roughly 215W http://www.coolermaster.outervision.com/ BUT while it does say it comes with a PSU, it doesn't say what Brand. If its the Coolermaster that sometimes comes with the cases, I'd change it. They are errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr not the best, there's better. wainuitech (129)
1392248 2015-01-16 00:04:00 It has no graphics card and no OS which is why it's so cheap. If your mate wants to game at all he'll need a new PSU & Graphics card which will bump the price up a lot.
Otherwise it's fine and 400W is tons of power for a PC with those specs if all he'll ever add is a hdd or two.

PBtech will build to order sometimes at no extra cost, it may be better to choose the parts yourself and have them assemble it.

1392249 2015-01-16 00:59:00 This PC is only for general use, email, internet, watching youtube video. No gaming, no photo editing- very basic.

On-board graphic is all that he needs.

You reckon adding another SSD should be fine for that 400W psu?

1392251 2015-01-16 01:45:00 SSDs use next to nothing power wise so yes it will be fine. Alex B (15479)

These stores generally do the job, they are "average" . They can be problematic, but are generally not . RMA services are average, you usually have to wait several weeks for a replacement, rarely getting a replacement on the spot .

(2 stars):

These stores are generally unrecommended . They are at times problematic when it comes to RMA services taking very long . It is relatively rare for these stores, but they sometimes try to sell off 2nd hand goods as new .

*** WARNING *** - These stores are relatively susceptible to an economic recession such as the one we are currently in as they generally rely on a high volume low profit system . There is a chance that they may shut down and that you might lose your money!
