Im putting one together at the moment with an ATI X800XL video card, Im looking foward to how she runs, the card is sexy, damn sexy. |

| 397496 | 2005-10-20 02:19:00 | I built much what Metla described in his 'middle of the road' system a few months ago... and yes, it kicks much arse. From what I've read I don't know that it's worth it for the dual core. God only knows why I didn't spend the extra on a Mac and 'be cool'. :cool: |

Don't sacrifice your video card or memory for dual core. There is NOT a single game that utilises dual core CPU's yet and probably won't be for around a year. I generally agree with Metla's specs, however he can keep his Asus MB as there failure rate is high compared to other brands in my experience. However its the Holden vs Ford argument, I just hate Asus, they get good review but don't last. If you have the cash go for a 6800GT or 7800GT vid card, the 6600 does struggle in some new games with the better settings, and a dual core won't help. |
