Reasonably new computer built by PC (no longer in business) running XP Home Edition. Mouse is one with lights and attached by cable. When All Programmes on screen the mouse cursor (blue hihglighted bar) travels up and down the screen repeatedly. Is this a symptom of a broken wire in mouse? Otherwise how to fix? Also cannot access programmes behind icons on Control Panel to check system. Double clicking with mouse and nothing happens. Is this indicative of requiring a new mouse?
