| 398521 | 2005-10-23 02:48:00 | It has managed to mess the disk properly. Since there's nothing to be saved, try using one of the Linux partitioners to wipe the partition table. Your live CD will probbaly have one ... open a terminal and do cfdisk /dev/hda (assuming this is the only hard disk, on an IDE bus, so it's the first, thus "hda"). "Delete" any partitions , then "Write", then "Quit". That's preferable to making Windows partitions from Linux (or vice versa), and let Windows try again. |

| 398523 | 2005-10-23 07:26:00 | Also does anyone know where possibly i can get either trial or full download of partition magic or any program that could do the same thing that i could install on linux knoppix .... | Timmy19 (6248) | ||
| 398524 | 2005-10-23 07:39:00 | Try getting the Popcorn edition of Slax Linux (slax.linux-live.org/) with the QTParted (http:) module installed. Run Slax, open the command prompt and run QTParted. :2cents: |

| 398526 | 2005-10-23 20:14:00 | I know this sounds silly, but you did remember to create a primary partition before trying to format it didn't you? | somebody (208) | ||
