| 398317 | 2005-10-22 00:59:00 | I am in the final stages of choosing a new 17' LCD Monitor. One feature I am having trouble researching is the power supply. Some show this as "external AC adaptor" which is self explanatory, and some "integrated" which I assume means off the comuter's power supply unit?? Am I right in my suppositions, and which is best? |

Integrated means (usually) they connect to a normal computer power supply cord (a.k.a jug plug). Depending on whether you base unit has a power supply with external output, then you could run it off your base unit. Otherwise, you just find a power strip or normal wall outlet to use. Of course if you get an external AC adaptor, if that fails then you can just buy another one (or get it repaired) without having to open the whole LCD. But frankly they are just another part to lose or get squished. |
