399041 2005-10-25 03:12:00 Hey guys, i just installed my dvd player in my computer, finally, but when im watching movies my mum ( im 15, not a 40 year old still living at home btw ) always naggs me to turn it down, so i want to use headphone to keep everyone happy, but my headphones wont stretch from the back of the computer to my ears

i have decided id like to rig up front mounted audio ports, which should be easy because my motherboard supports it, and my case has headphone and mic jacks at the front, all it needs to do is be plugged in, here is my problem

WHERE! :annoyed:

my motherboard is a MSI MS-6390-L and here is the website

www.msi.com.tw

please help! :dogeye:

399042 2005-10-25 04:01:00 Hmm what revision is the mobo?? 1, 2 or 3?? I dont think its 3.0.

As the manual, only shows the JFMIC connection bottom left...This is only for mic not for headphones.

399043 2005-10-25 04:24:00 Look for JAUD1 on the mobo .

This is near the soundcard (under it) on the mobo . By JCD1, and JAUX1 .

Pins 5,6 and 9,10 are jumpered . These have to be removed, if u connect it to the front of the case .

but..just an alternative to make life easier

why not just use a 3.5mm Stereo Plug - 3.5mm Stereo Socket Cable (www.dse.co.nz)

front audio port always nice..lucky mine just came with my comp
no need to set anything up

399045 2005-10-25 06:29:00 On some cases, connecting the front port to the mobo, also gives u the option of listening to sound when something (like speakers etc) are plugged in the back.

And u can also listen to the same thing when using the front ports, at the same time.

I got two case about 2 weeks ago, with front audio and mic ports.

Connected the wires from the case to the mobo, and can now listen to whatever from the tv tuner to the tv, and listen thru the headphones, at the same time, without the sound from the back getting cut off.

399046 2005-10-25 10:02:00 um..interesting..

my one if you connect the front and set the jumper setting and stuff
the one at the back stops working
i guess my motherboard can't do what yours can do

399047 2005-10-25 20:02:00 If you have whats called the front panel audio connector, on the mobo, this is what you connect the front ports to.

And yup, not all mobos have this.
