| 398748 | 2005-10-24 04:30:00 | I have never used Avast. I personally hate Norton's and would reccommend just about anything else. But if you are after free, then you can't go past AVGfree. Very Solid AV that won't slow your computer down too much. I and many people I know have used it for years with next to no problems. I dont think AVG is "the best", its just very good and free. www.grisoft.com |

| 398753 | 2005-10-24 05:45:00 | I use avast! and have done for several years. It's kept me safe. I like it very much. It has a webshield which works well, it updates regularly - sometimes several times a day and the updates are FAST. There's also a good support forum should you require assistance. If you're going to try avast!, please go to the Symantec site and get the tool to effectively remove the Norton you're running. Norton leaves lots of pieces behind after uninstalling and these may conflict with any new AV prog you run. Avast! is free for home use or you may prefer to buy their Pro version which has a few more bells and whistles. Happy Days |

HELL YES !!!..........Almost anything is better than norton.......norton is a bloated system hog.........stay away from it.......it also has a bad habit of not pickin up on trojans......most of which the free a/v progs such as avg and avast have no trouble findin........if you need to find avast just google for avast download it'll take seconds........... |
